Become A Home Hero For Magpas Air Ambulance

The 2.6 Challenge

Launching on Sunday 26th April – what should have been the date of the London Marathon (the world’s biggest one day annual fundraising event) – comes a brand new, national home-based challenge. Will you join Magpas Air Ambulance in taking part?

Created by the organisers of the biggest mass-participation sporting events in the country, the 2.6 Challenge has been created in response to this national emergency to help save the UK’s charities.

The Magpas medical team continue to work on the frontline 24/7, but with our usual fundraising activity stopping, we need you now more than ever. So have some fun, get your friends and family involved and become a Home Hero for Magpas Air Ambulance!

The challenge is simple!

Think of an activity or challenge based on the numbers 2.6 or 26, create your fundraising page for Magpas Air Ambulance on Just Giving, and make it happen on 26th April (or sometime during the following week – we’re not picky)!

Tackle the lockdown boredom; do it solo or get your household or street involved and help the air ambulance charity for your community continue to save lives. You could skip for 2.6 miles, bake 26 cakes, plank for 2.6 minutes or come up with your own idea (there are loads of suggestions here). As long as it follows Government guidelines, the sky’s the limit!

Get involved and become a Home Hero in 5 easy steps:

  1. Dream up your 2.6 challenge
  2. Head to JustGiving and create your fundraising page – don’t forget to link it to our Magpas Air Ambulance campaign!
  3. Ask all your friends and family to sponsor you £26 (or whatever they can afford) and challenge them to do their own 2.6 Challenge
  4. Complete your challenge
  5. Share a photo or video of it on social media with #TwoPointSixChallenge and tag us (@magpasairambulance / @magpas_charity)

Still have some questions? Just get in touch with Annette at [email protected] she would love to hear from you

This is a difficult time for everyone. Our usual fundraising activity has stopped, but the Magpas medical team continue to work on the frontline, 24/7. As a charity, we need you now more than ever.

We’ve created a virtual donation bucket so the communities we serve can still help to keep us flying. If everyone gives a little and shares a lot, with you, we can continue to save lives. Thank you.
