Wear something orange for your lifesaving team!

Wear something orange for your lifesaving team!

Lifesavers invite you to go orange any day!

Photo caption: Rebecca Jackson, from Academy Corporate Entertainment Ltd. and member of the Business Club in Peterborough, visited the Magpas Helimedix Base and demonstrated how to go glam on Magpas Orange Day!

Magpas needs you! The Emergency Medical Charity is calling on members of the community in the East of England and beyond, to wear something orange for their lifesaving team.

All you need to do, is find an orange piece of clothing, or don an orange accessory and donate £1 to Magpas. You could even dress from head to toe in orange - it's up to you! Get everyone to join in, you can make Magpas Orange Day any day! If you'd like to know what sort of a crucial difference you could help Magpas to make, former patient Sue can explain what the organisation did for her,

"I have never been so relieved to hear the sound of the Helicopter and to see those orange suits .The Magpas Helimedix Paramedic and Doctor not only took care of me, but also took care of my family who were with me at the time of the accident. They made a huge difference; not just with saving my life, but treating me with such consideration and calm authority. They made the whole frightening incident somehow less traumatic for me. I will be forever grateful to the Magpas and I cannot thank the charity enough for being there".

Contact Magpas for your Orange Day pack by emailing: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or by calling: 01480 371 060 and ask to speak to our fundraising team.

However you decide to support us, you will help us to continue to provide our vital service, day and night, in the Eastern Region and beyond! THANK YOU - You're a Magpas Lifesaver.

Severe single car incident, Peterborough – Magpas Helimedix fly to scene……17th February, 2014

At 4pm yesterday afternoon (16th), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Charles Johnson and Paramedic Ryan Warwick) flew to the A47 in Peterborough, via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance. A car left the road and collided with a fence – resulting in a post spearing the windscreen.

When the Magpas team arrived, a Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Crew had safely and efficiently removed a man (in his 30’s) from the vehicle. The Helimedix anaesthetised the patient, who suffered serious injuries. They then accompanied him in a Land Ambulance, to Peterborough City Hospital (monitoring his condition all the way). On arrival at the hospital, the man was in a critical condition.

The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene was: Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crew Member George Phillips.
An EEAST Ambulance Crew and Cambridgeshire Police were also present. All the Emergency Services worked extremely well together.

At 8am this morning, Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Phil Morgan, Doctor Vijayasankar and Paramedic Alex Pearce) arrived at a residential address in March, via the Magpas Rapid Response BMW – after a young boy suffered a fall from a first story window and landed on a hard surface.

The Magpas team sedated the patient, who suffered serious upper leg injuries. They also put measures in place to protect and straighten the child’s leg, whilst working alongside an EEAST Ambulance Crew. The Helimedix then accompanied the boy in a Land Ambulance to Peterborough City Hospital, where on arrival he was in a stable condition. His parents are at his bedside.
