The OC Pathfinders Motorcycle Club, themselves based at RAF Wyton, held two events in aid of Magpas in 2015:
A Slow Ride Skills Day, where they hosted Peterborough & Cambridge Advanced Motorcyclists (PCAM) and held a training session. The skills are designed to give the motorcyclist a better grip of manoeuvring around obstacles utilising their riding posture and braking. The day was particularly challenging as it was very windy. All motorcyclists ended the day by being serving a chilli which was cooked by a member of the Pathfinder Motorcycle Club. It was a very successful day and another will be held next year.
A Charity Airfield Ride Day (CARD), an event that was the brainchild of a Pathfinder Motorcycle Club member and was designed to hone the skills of the motorcyclist during high speed manoeuvres under controlled conditions. The track was laid out over the whole of the RAF Wyton airfield. Motorcyclists of all types attended, where bikes were often pushed to their limits. The weather was very hot, however everyone had a thoroughly enjoyable time.
The Pathfinder motorcycle Club raised an incredible £400 for Magpas, and a huge thank you to Pete and team for all your hard work in organising these two brilliant events, it really does make a lifesaving difference.
