Last week we welcomed a great range of volunteers, supporters and fundraisers to our Magpas Air Ambulance base.
On Tuesday we welcomed some local children and their families the base and learn about what the team do and see the helicopter first hand. After seeing the helicopter land, our HEMS crewmember George gave them a tour and explained all about how the helicopter works. Also present were some of our volunteers who work in our charity shop; Melloney, Robyn who brought her son and Jenny who brought her granddaughter. It was lovely to see our volunteers getting their families, and the younger generation, interested in the lifesaving work that Magpas Air Ambulance does.
On Thursday Laura Smith who is fundraising for Magpas in a variety of ways throughout the year came up to the base to learn first-hand more about what she is raising money for. Laura was inspired to fundraise for Magpas as her friend Dan (pictured above next to Laura) is a Magpas paramedic. She will be running the Manchester marathon – her first marathon! – in April. You can sponsor Laura and learn more about her training here: https://www.justgiving.com/L-Smith4Magpas/.It’s a brilliant way of fundraising for Magpas, and we wish Laura the very best of luck!
