Laugavegur Trail Charity Trek – Iceland
Magpas Air Ambulance are extremely excited to be working with Sky Blue Adventures to bring you some incredible charity treks and experiences!
The Laugavegur Hiking Trail is the most famous trail in Iceland and truly one of the world’s most beautiful treks. This 4 day self-guided hiking package (DATE June 2021), offers you the chance to experience the Laugavegur trail, on foot and on your own terms.
The Laugavegur trail connects the Landmannalaugar and Þórsmörk Nature Reserves and offers a variety of different volcanic landscapes along the way. Every day has different views with beautiful scenery of pristine nature with volcanoes, lava fields, glaciers, natural hot springs, black arctic deserts and the lush forested valleys of Þórsmörk. Accommodation along the way is provided in rustic mountain huts in beautiful locations.
The trek starts in Landmannalaugar and finishes at the Volcano Huts in Þórsmörk. By extending the trek by one or two days you can hike over the Fimmvörðuháls pass all the way to Skógar, south of the Eyjafjallajökull Volcano and Glacier. An open bus ticket is included in this package which allows you to take the bus from Reykjavík to the trailhead in Landmannalaugar and back again from Þórsmörk or Skógar at the end of the trail.
Sky Blue Adventures are a small business with a friendly approach, and will not only make this experience one to remember, but will offer you loads of support in the run up to your charity trek with regular catch ups and training. Magpas Air Ambulance will also send you a Magpas t-shirt and fundraising pack when you first sign up, and our Community and Events Officer will be on hand throughout to help maximise your fundraising and answer any questions you have.
Magpas Air Ambulance are excited to have places available for this expedition for £1,395*, and we ask for you to aim to raise £1,000 in sponsorship for our crucial, lifesaving cause.
