At 7:13pm yesterday evening (5th) Magpas Doctor Simon Lewis and Paramedic Alex Pearce arrived in Wellingborough via a Magpas Air Ambulance rapid response vehicle. They had been called to treat a man who had been injured in a collision between a pedestrian and a car.
The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the man (in his 80’s) who had sustained a head injury and sedated him and placed him into a medically induced coma at the scene (providing him with A&E level care). The Magpas team then accompanied the patient to University Hospital Coventry via land ambulance. He was in a very serious but stable condition upon arrival.
An EMAS Ambulance Service paramedic crew and Northamptonshire Police were also in attendance.
