At 8.20am this morning (27th) Magpas Doctor Scott Knapp and Paramedic Steve Chambers landed at the A605 east of Whittlesey via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a man who had been injured in a collision between two vehicles.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the patient (in his 20’s) who had sustained multiple injuries and gave him advanced pain relief at the scene (providing him with A&E level care). They then airlifted the man to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge. He was in a stable condition upon arrival.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team and patient were Pilot Andy Figg and Crewmember Lee Kennedy.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew, Cambridgeshire Police and Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.

Peterborough, multi-vehicle collision – Magpas Air Ambulance called to scene

At 8.55pm last night (3rd) Magpas Doctor Mark Tehan and Paramedic Dan Read arrived in Peterborough via the Magpas Air Ambulance rapid response vehicle. They were called to a multi-vehicle collision which involved six casualties.

The Magpas enhanced medical team worked alongside East Anglian Air Ambulance and an EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew to assess all the patients. The Magpas Doctor and Paramedic team proceeded to treat a girl (in her teens) who had suffered a severe leg injury. They sedated her at the scene (providing her with A&E level care) before accompanying her to Peterborough City Hospital. Her condition was monitored all the way and she was in a serious but stable condition upon arrival.

Cambridgeshire Police and the Fire and Rescue service were also in attendance.

At 9:30pm last night (9th) Magpas Doctor Jono Ritson and Paramedic Alex Pearce arrived at the A5199 near Creaton, Northamptonshire via the Magpas Air Ambulance rapid response vehicle. They had been called to treat two patients with multiple injuries who had been involved in a 3x vehicle collision.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed a woman (in her 50’s) who had sustained abdominal injuries, and worked alongside an EMAS Ambulance Service paramedic crew before she was taken to Northampton General Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The Magpas doctor and paramedic team also assessed a man (in his 20’s) who had sustained head injuries. They gave him enhanced pain relief at the scene (providing him with A&E level care) before accompanying the patient to University Hospital Coventry. He was in a serious but stable condition upon arrival at hospital.

The Air Ambulance Service (TAAS), an EMAS Ambulance Service paramedic crew, the East Midlands Immediate Care Scheme, Northamptonshire Police and the Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.

At 11:50am this morning (13th) Magpas Doctor Charlotte Haldane and Paramedic Chris Hawkins flew to the A428 in Northampton via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a man who had been trapped and injured in a 3x vehicle collision.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the patient (in his 70’s), who had suffered multiple serious injuries, before they worked alongside the emergency services to safely get the man out of the vehicle. The Magpas team provided the patient with A&E level care at the roadside. The man was then airlifted to University Hospital Coventry, he was in a serious condition upon arrival.

The patient was in a serious but stable condition upon arrival at hospital.

Later on, at 11.02am, Magpas Air Ambulance airlifted the patient in a transfer from Peterborough City Hospital to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge. The patient remained in a serious but stable condition upon arrival at Addenbrooke’s.
