Nr Flitwick, cyclist with head injuries - Magpas Air Ambulance flies to him

At 11.48am this morning (2nd), Magpas Doctor Rupert Hurry and Paramedic Chris Hawkins landed in a school playing field near Flitwick via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat patient who suffered head injuries following a fall from his bike.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the man (in his 70s), before sedating him (giving him A&E level care). They escorted the patient to Luton & Dunstable Hospital, where upon arrival he was in a stable condition.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team were Chief Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crewmember Paul Nolan.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew and Bedfordshire Police were also in attendance.

Bedford, 2x vehicle serious collision - Magpas Air Ambulance called to scene

At 7.48am this morning (30th) Magpas Doctor Scott Knapp and Paramedic Alex Pearce arrived in Bedford via the Magpas Air Ambulance rapid response vehicle. They had been called to treat a man who had been injured in a collision between two vehicles.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the patient (in his 20’s) who had sustained a head injury. They placed the patient into a medically induced coma at the scene (providing him with A&E level care). Before an East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) crew airlifted the man, who was in a stable condition, to Addenbrooke’s hospital in Cambridge.

An EAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew, Bedfordshire police and the Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.

Nr St Ives, woman injured in fall down stairs - Magpas Air Ambulance called to the scene

At 6.30am this morning (19th), Magpas Doctor Scott Knapp and Paramedic Steve Chambers arrived at a residential location south of St Ives via a rapid response vehicle. They had been called to treat a woman injured after falling down a flight of stairs.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the woman (in her 60’s) who had sustained a head injury. They provided her with pain relief in order to extricate her from the property. The woman was then taken by land ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in a stable condition.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew was also in attendance.

Shefford, cyclist seriously injured in fall from bicycle - Magpas Air Ambulance flies to the scene

At 12.51pm on Saturday afternoon (31st) Magpas Doctor Charlotte Haldane and Paramedic Dan Cody landed in Shefford via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a man who had fallen from a pushbike.

The Magpas medical team assessed the man (in his 40s) who had sustained a head injury. They anaesthetised the patient at the scene (providing him with A&E level care) before airlifting him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital. He was in a serious but stable condition upon arrival at hospital.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team and patient were Pilot Paul Nolan and Crewmember George Phillips.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew and the EEAST Hazardous Area Response Team were also in attendance.

At 5.22pm on Sunday evening (23rd), Magpas Doctor Sarah Hazleman and Paramedic Chris Hawkins landed in Rushden via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a man had fallen over.

The Magpas medical team assessed the man (in his 50’s), who had sustained a head injury, before flying him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge. He was in a stable condition upon arrival at hospital.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team and patient were Pilot Andy Figg and Crewmember Roger Sheridan.

An EMAS Ambulance Service paramedic crew and Northamptonshire Police were also in attendance.
