Bedford, pedestrian vs car - Magpas Air Ambulance flies to the scene

Bedford, pedestrian vs car - Magpas Air Ambulance flies to the scene

At 1:30pm yesterday afternoon (20th), Magpas Doctor Ed Barnard and Paramedic Oliver Robinson landed in Bedford via the Magpas Air Ambulance - after a collision involving a car and a pedestrian, in a supermarket car park.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed a woman (in her 70s) who had sustained multiple injuries. They worked alongside an EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew to put measures into place to protect the patient’s injuries, before transferring her by road to Bedford Hospital. The woman was in a very serious but stable condition upon arrival at hospital.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team and patient were Chief Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crewmember Lee Kennedy.
Bedfordshire Police were also in attendance.
