Cambridge man goes into cardiac arrest - Magpas Helimedix fly to him

 

At 11:29am yesterday morning (25th), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Maria Smith and Paramedic Steve Chambers) arrived in Cambridge via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance - after a man (in his 40’s) went into cardiac arrest.

A bystander performed CPR until an EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew arrived and resuscitated the patient. The Magpas Helimedix anaesthetised the man (providing him with specialist A&E level care). The Magpas team then accompanied the patient, in a land ambulance, to Papworth hospital (monitoring his condition all the way). On arrival at the hospital the man was in a serious but stable condition.

The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene was: Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crew Member George Phillips.

At 7:55pm last night (22nd), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Nathan Howes and Paramedic Dan Read) arrived at the A10 in the Melbourn area via the Magpas Rapid Response BMW - after a road traffic collision involving a van and a motorbike.

The Magpas team worked alongside an EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew to assess a man who suffered neck, arm and leg pain. The patient was then taken, in a stable condition, to Addenbrooke’s Hospital by land ambulance,.

 The police were also at the scene.

At 1:06pm yesterday afternoon (21st), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Tom Odbert and Paramedic Dan Phillips) arrived in the St Ives area via the Magpas Rapid Response BMW - after a woman (in her 50’s) suffered a seizure.

The Magpas team worked alongside an EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew to assess and treat the patient. The Helimedix sedated the woman (providing her with A&E level care), before accompanying her in a land ambulance to Hinchingbrooke Hospital. The woman was in a serious but stable condition.

Magpas Helimedix would like thank the EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew who were at the scene, for their excellent team work.

At 3:46pm yesterday afternoon (18th), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Nathan Howes and Paramedic Keir Rutherford) arrived in the Godmanchester area via the Magpas Rapid Response BMW - after two cars collided.

The Magpas team assessed a young girl who suffered fractures to her lower body. The Helimedix sedated the patient (providing her with A&E level care), before working alongside a Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service Crew, a HART team and EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedics to remove the girl safely from the vehicle she was in. The Magpas team then accompanied the young patient in a land ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital. On arrival at the hospital, the girl was in a stable condition.

The Police were also present at the scene.

At 12:03pm yesterday afternoon (18th), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Nathan Howes and Paramedic Keir Rutherford) arrived at a residential area in central Peterborough via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance. A woman (in her 40’s) was experiencing severe pain, after she suffered a fall the previous day (Saturday).

The Magpas team provided the patient with enhanced pain relief, before accompanying her to Peterborough City Hospital in a land ambulance. On arrival at the hospital, the woman was in a stable condition.

The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene was: Pilot Andy Figg and Crew Member George Phillips.

EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crews were also present.

At 8:28am this morning, Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Nathan Howes and Paramedic Dan Read) arrived at in the Shefford area of Bedfordshire via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance - after two cars were involved in a road traffic collision.

The Magpas team assessed a man (in his 40’s) who fortunately didn’t suffer any life threatening injuries. The Helimedix administered pain relief for the patient before working alongside EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crews to remove him safely out of the vehicle. The man was then taken to Bedford Hospital in a stable condition, by land ambulance.

The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene was: Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crew Member Rob Davies.

Two EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crews, an EEAST Ambulance Service Rapid Response Paramedic and an EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Officer were all present, alongside the Police.

At 3:32pm yesterday afternoon (14th), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Nathan Howes and Paramedic Dan Read) arrived at a location between Outwell and Wisbech, via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance - after a collision between a car and a tree.

The Magpas team assessed a man (in his 40’s) who suffered a head injury. The Helimedix then worked alongside a Fire & Rescue Service Crew and EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crews to remove the patient safely out of the vehicle. The Magpas team then accompanied the man, in a land ambulance, to King’s Lynn Hospital for further investigation (monitoring his condition all the way). On arrival at the hospital, the patient was in a serious but stable condition.

The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene was: Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crew Member George Phillips.

The Police were also present. All the Emergency Services worked extremely well together.

The Magpas team provided the patient with Enhanced A&E level care, before accompanying him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in a land ambulance (monitoring his condition all the way). On arrival at the hospital, the man was in a stable but critical condition.

Two EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crews were also present. All the Emergency Services worked extremely well together.

At 11:14am yesterday morning (12th), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Nick Foster and Paramedic Simon Standen) arrived at a residential area in central Huntingdon, via the Magpas Rapid Response BMW - after a woman (in her 60’s) suffered an acute injury to her hip.

The Magpas team gave the patient A&E level care in order to rectify her injury, whilst working alongside an EEAST Ambulance Paramedic Crew and a HART Crew who helped move the woman safely out of the building she was in. The Helimedix then accompanied the patient to Hinchingbrooke Hospital in a land ambulance, where on arrival she was in a stable condition.

A second EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew was also present. All the Emergency Services worked extremely well together.

At 12:58pm yesterday afternoon (11th), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Nick Foster and Paramedic Simon Standen) arrived at the A14 near Keyston, via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance - after a road traffic collision involving three cars.

The Magpas team assessed a woman (in her 40’s) who suffered head injuries. The Helimedix treated the patient, before she was taken to Kettering Hospital, in a stable condition, by land ambulance. Two EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic crews and an EMAS Ambulance Service Rapid Response Paramedic also assessed a small number of other patients at the scene. Fortunately no one involved in this incident suffered life-threatening injuries.

The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene was: Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crew Member Steve Hunwicks.

A Fire & Rescue Service Crew and the Police were also present. All the Emergency Services worked extremely well together.

At 7:37pm yesterday evening (11th), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Alexandra Cross and Paramedic Dan Read) arrived in March via the Magpas Rapid Response BMW - after a man (in his 60’s) went into cardiac arrest.

When the Magpas team arrived, an EEAST Ambulance Paramedic Crew had resuscitated the patient. The Helimedix then provided the man with critical A&E level care, before accompanying him in a land ambulance to Peterborough City Hospital, monitoring his condition all the way. On arrival at the hospital, the patient was in a stable but critical condition.

A Community First Responder and an EEAST Ambulance Service Rapid Response Paramedic were also present. All the Emergency Services worked extremely well together. The Magpas Helimedix team would especially like to thank the EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedics for their excellent team work.

At 8.10am on the 21st December, Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Alex Cross and Paramedic Rob Riches) arrived at a residential address North West of Bedford via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance. An elderly lady had suffered a serious fall.

When the Helimedix arrived on scene the ambulance crew had resuscitated the patient. The Helimedix then anaesthetised the woman (giving her Specialist A&E level care), before accompanying her to Lister Hospital . On arrival at the hospital, the patient was in a critical condition.

The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene was: Pilot Andy Figg and Crew Member Steve Hunwicks.

All the Emergency Services worked extremely well together.

At 17:00 on the (21st December), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Alex Cross and Paramedic Rob Riches) met an ambulance crew at Magpas’ crash gate at RAF Wyton after a motorbike was involved in a collision near Warboys. The Helimedix team provided a man in his 50s with advanced pain relief and then accompanied the patient to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in a land ambulance. On arrival at the hospital, the man was in serious but stable condition.

At 3:27pm yesterday afternoon (18th), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Alexandra Cross and Paramedic Dan Read) arrived in Yaxley via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance - after a serious collision occurred involving a car and a van.

The Magpas team sedated a man (in his 30’s) who was trapped inside the van and had suffered serious leg injuries. The Helimedix then worked alongside a Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Crew (who did an excellent job), to safely remove the patient from the vehicle before accompanying him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in a land ambulance. On arrival at the hospital, the man was in a serious but stable condition.

Prior to the arrival of the Magpas team, another patient had managed to get out of the van themselves and was subsequently taken to Peterborough City Hospital, in a land ambulance, by an EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew for further observation. Sadly, a man was also pronounced dead at the scene, our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.

The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene was: Pilot Andy Figg and Crew Member Simon Amos.

An EEAST Ambulance Service Rapid Response Paramedic, an EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Manager and the Police were also present. All the Emergency Services worked extremely well together.

The Magpas team worked alongside an EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew at the scene, to administer pain relief and put measures into place to protect the patient’s injury. The woman was then taken to Bury St Edmunds Hospital, in a stable condition, by land ambulance.

At 12:48pm Saturday afternoon (13th), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Tom Odbert and Paramedic Simon Standen) arrived in the Crowland area of Peterborough via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance.  An EMAS Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew requested their assistance whilst on route to hospital with a patient who was suffering from severe chest pains.

The Magpas team provided a man (in his 60’s) with enhanced A&E level care in the back of a land ambulance, before flying the patient to Papworth Hospital for further treatment. On arrival at the hospital, the man was in a stable but serious condition.

The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the patient / the patient and the Helimedix to hospital was: Pilot Rob Pennell and Crew Member George Phillips.

All the Emergency Services worked extremely well together.
