Kempston, woman injured in 2x vehicle collision - Magpas Air Ambulance flies to the scene

At 3.31pm on Sunday afternoon (15th), Magpas Doctor Sophia De Maria and Paramedic Dan Read landed in Kempston, via the Magpas air ambulance, to treat a woman who had been injured in a collision involving two vehicles.

The Magpas medical team assessed the woman (in her 20s), who had sustained a leg injury. The patient was sedated (providing her with A&E level care at the scene) in order to extricate her from the vehicle. She was then flown to Bedford Hospital, where she was in a stable condition upon arrival.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team and patient were Pilot Steve Wood and Crewmember Lee Kennedy.

Bedfordshire Police, Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service and an EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew were also in attendance.

At 8.00am on Saturday morning (7th), Magpas Doctor Rupert Hurry and Paramedic Alex Pearce landed in Holbeach, via the Magpas air ambulance, to treat a man who had been injured in a collision involving two vehicles.

The Magpas medical team assessed the man (in his 40s), who had sustained a neck injury. The patient was given pain relief and removed from the vehicle, then flown to Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team were Pilot Andy Figg and Crewmember Lee Kennedy.

At 1.49pm this afternoon (4th), Magpas Doctor Andy Lindsay and Paramedic Chris Hawkins landed at the A47 in Peterborough, via the air ambulance, to treat a man who had been injured when his car came off the road.

The Magpas team assessed the man (in his 20s), who was trapped inside his vehicle and had sustained head injuries. The patient was given pain relief, and the team worked with the fire service to extract him from the car. The patient was then taken by land ambulance to Peterborough City Hospital in a stable condition.

At 7:46pm last night (28th), Magpas Doctor Lee Soomaroo and Paramedic Ollie Robinson arrived near Rushden, via the Magpas Air Ambulance rapid response vehicle, following a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian.
