At 6.33am this morning (20th), Magpas Doctor Richard Booker and Paramedic Alex Pearce arrived near Caxton Gibbet via a rapid response vehicle. They had been called to treat two people injured in a collision between a lorry and a minibus.

The Magpas medical team assessed a woman (in her 40s) who had sustained minor leg injuries and was taken by EEAST Ambulance Service paramedics to Addenbrooke’s Hospital.

A second patient, a man in his 40s, was discharged at the scene after being assessed by the Magpas medical team.

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service and Cambridgeshire Police were also in attendance.

At 5.04pm on Monday evening (12th), Magpas Doctor Scott Knapp and Paramedic Dan Read landed in Huntingdon, via the Magpas Air Ambulance, to treat a young girl who had fallen from a horse.

The Magpas medical team assessed the girl, who had sustained an arm injury, and provided her with pain relief.

She was then airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, where she was in a serious but stable condition upon arrival.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team and patient were Pilot Andy Figg and Crewmember Lee Kennedy.

At 4.15pm on Wednesday afternoon (7th), Magpas Doctor Charlotte Haldane and Paramedic Dan Read landed in Louth via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a man injured in a collision between a lorry and a car.

The Magpas team assessed a man (in his 80s) who had sustained multiple injuries and was trapped inside the car with another passenger. They assisted in extricating the man from the vehicle and gave him initial treatments at the scene.

He was then airlifted to Hull Royal Infirmary, where he was in a stable condition upon arrival.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team were Chief Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crewmember Steve Wood.

Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance, Lincolnshire Police, EMAS Ambulance Service and Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.

She was then taken by land ambulance to Luton & Dunstable University Hospital, where she was in a stable condition upon arrival.

A1101 nr Wisbech, man seriously injured in single vehicle collision - Magpas Air Ambulance called to scene

At 7.02am this morning (2nd), Magpas Doctor Andy Lindsay and Paramedic Alex Pearce arrived near Wisbech, via the rapid response vehicle, to treat a man who had been seriously injured when the van he was travelling in rolled over.

The Magpas team assessed the man (in his 20s) who had sustained serious chest injuries. They anaesthetised him at the scene (giving him A&E level care). The team then accompanied him by land ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital where he was in a very serious but stable condition upon arrival.

EEAST Ambulance Service paramedics treated a further two people who had been injured, and assessed five who had escaped with minor injuries.

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service and Cambridgeshire Police were also in attendance.

At 4.45pm on Monday afternoon (18th), Magpas Doctor Lee Soomaroo and Paramedic Ollie Robinson landed in St Albans, via the Magpas Air Ambulance, to treat a man  who had fallen from a significant height at a construction site.

The Magpas team assessed a man (in his 20s) who had sustained suspected pelvic and back injuries. They put measures in place to protect his injuries and coordinated efforts to extricate the patient from the site.

He was then taken by land ambulance to Watford General Hospital, where he was in a serious but stable condition upon arrival.

She was then taken by land ambulance to Lister Hospital, Stevenage in a stable condition.

Nr Oundle, many injured in bus v car collision - Magpas Air Ambulance flies to the scene

At 4.14pm on Thursday afternoon (14th), Magpas Doctors Leigh Bissett and Dhakshinamoorthy Vijayasankar and Paramedic Dan Phillips landed near Oundle, via the Magpas Air Ambulance, to treat a number of people injured when the bus they were travelling in collided with a car.

Magpas Air Ambulance was one of the first emergency medical resources on scene and assisted an EMAS ambulance officer to assess the situation and declare a major incident. Other emergency services, including the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, arrived shortly after.

As the first air ambulance team on scene, the Magpas medical team took the crucial role of triaging the injured patients.

Excellent working between all agencies ensured 23 patients were quickly triaged, with many treated at the scene and several taken to hospital by land ambulance. One patient was airlifted by the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.

The Hazardous Area Response Team, Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service and Northamptonshire Police were also in attendance.

At 1:04am in the early hours of this morning (10th), Magpas Doctor Rupert Hurry and Paramedic Dan Read arrived at a rural location, north of Warboys, via the Magpas rapid response vehicle. They were called out to treat a man (in his 50’s) who was involved in a single vehicle road traffic incident.

The Magpas medical team assessed the patient who had suffered an arm injury. They then worked alongside Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service, an EEAST paramedic crew and Cambridgeshire Police to move the man safely out of the car he was in - and into the back of a land ambulance. The Magpas team gave the patient pain relief and he was taken to Peterborough City Hospital, by land, in a stable condition.

Buckinghamshire, motorcyclist seriously injured - Magpas Air Ambulance flies to scene

At 6:11pm on Sunday evening (July 3rd), Magpas Doctor Peter Holden and Paramedic Simon Standen landed in the Chesham area via the Magpas Air Ambulance. The Magpas medical team were called out to treat a man, in his 50’s, who had been involved in a motorbike incident (which left him stranded in thick undergrowth near the side of a road).

The Magpas team assessed the patient who had sustained multiple injuries. They provided him with pain relief and moved him safely into the Magpas Air Ambulance, before flying him to Addenbrooke’s for further investigation. On arrival at the hospital, the man was in a very serious but stable condition.

At 2:10pm on Saturday afternoon (2nd), Magpas Doctor Phil Morgan and Paramedic Simon Standen landed near some tall, dense woodland (north of Woburn) via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They were called out to treat a man (in his late 20's) who suffered a fall, in the midst of doing a jump on a mountain bike.

The Magpas team assessed the patient who had sustained serious back injuries. They provided him with pain relief and immobilised him to protect his injuries, before flying him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital for further investigation. On arrival at the hospital, the man was in a serious but stable condition.

Northamptonshire, car & pushbike collision - Magpas Air Ambulance called to scene

At 6:23am this morning Magpas Doctor Drew Welch and Magpas Paramedic Alex Pearce arrived in Northamptonshire (to the East of Lamport) via the rapid response vehicle. They were called out to treat a man (in his mid-20’s), who had been thrown quite a distance from his bicycle and into some bushes - after his pushbike and a car collided.

The Magpas team worked alongside an EMAS paramedic crew to assess the patient. Fortunately, the man didn’t suffer any life-threatening injuries, but was given pain relief for a suspected leg injury.

The patient was then taken, in a stable condition, by land ambulance to Northampton Hospital for further treatment.
Northamptonshire Police and Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.
