Wisbech, man crushed by timber - Magpas Air Ambulance flies to the scene

Wisbech, man crushed by timber - Magpas Air Ambulance flies to the scene

At 2.52pm today (20th), Magpas Doctor Ed Barnard and Paramedic Alex Pearce landed in Wisbech, via the Magpas Air Ambulance, to treat a man who was crushed after some timber fell on him.

The Magpas medical team assessed the man (in his 40’s) who had sustained injuries to his leg. They provided the patient with advanced pain relief and sedated him at the scene (giving him A&E level care). The Magpas Doctor and Paramedic then accompanied the patient by land ambulance to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King’s Lynn, where he was in a stable condition upon arrival.

The helicopter team who flew the Magpas Doctor and Paramedic to the scene was: Chief Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crew Member Lee Kennedy.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew was also in attendance.
