Cambridge, walker suffers serious leg injury – Magpas Air Ambulance flies to her


At 12:18pm this afternoon (6th), Magpas Doctor Sam Todd, Paramedic Steve Chambers and Doctor Maria Smith landed in central Cambridge via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a woman who had been injured whilst she was out walking her dog. 

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the patient (in her 60s) who had sustained a serious leg injury and sedated her (providing her with A&E level care). The Magpas team then accompanied the patient to Addenbrooke’s Hospital via land ambulance. The woman was in a stable condition upon arrival. 

The Magpas Air Ambulance helicopter crew who flew the Magpas medical team were Pilot Dan Vickers and Crewmember Lee Kennedy. 

Off-duty Magpas Doctor Charlotte Haldane also happened to be jogging through the area at the time – and stopped to help the patient – whilst working alongside an EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew who were also in attendance.
