Bedfordshire, man seriously injured in motorbike & car collision – Magpas Air Ambulance fly to him

At 10:44am yesterday (7th), Magpas Doctor Ali Hieatt and Paramedic Alex Pearce landed at a location just outside Bedford (to the west of the town) in the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a man who had been injured in a road traffic collision involving car and a motorcycle.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the patient (in his 70s) who had sustained a serious leg injury. They sedated the man at the scene (providing him with A&E level care) before then flying him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital for further treatment. He was in a serious but stable condition upon arrival.

The Magpas Air Ambulance helicopter crew, who flew the patient and the medical team, were Pilot Chris Sherriff and Crewmember Lee Kennedy.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew and Bedfordshire Police were also in attendance.

We have no further information.
