Associates from Amazon’s fulfilment centre in Peterborough made an extra special delivery recently – a charity donation to the Magpas Helimedix.
In the last two years, Amazon has donated over £1,350 to Magpas. These funds will buy two flame and chemical retardant flight suits and three pairs of steel capped boots for the specialist doctors and paramedics, from around the UK, who bring frontline A&E care to patients in life threatening emergencies, in the East of England and beyond.
Rob McConnell and his colleagues from the Amazon site at Flaxley Road in Peterborough, visited the Helimedix Operations Base in Huntingdon, to meet the Helimedix team on shift, many of whom volunteer their own time to work with Magpas.
“These uniforms are an essential, in order for our highly trained paramedics and doctors to continue to save lives, by air or by land, in the local area,” explains Antonia Brickell from Magpas. “We are delighted to receive this donation from Amazon and would like to thank Rob, Allen and Elli for taking the time to visit the Helimedix Operations Base and see what a crucial difference their support makes.”
