At 5:17pm yesterday evening (28th) Magpas Doctor Saad Jawaid and Paramedic Chris Hawkins landed at the Silverstone Circuit via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a man who had been seriously injured following a motorbike road traffic incident in Towcester.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the patient (in his 50’s) who had suffered multiple injuries. They administered advanced pain relief (providing him with A&E level care at the scene), before flying him to Coventry Major Trauma Centre for further treatment. Upon arrival at the hospital, the patient was in a very serious but stable condition.

The helicopter crew who flew the Magpas medical team and patient were Chief Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crewmember Simon Amos.
An EMAS Ambulance Service paramedic crew and a private ambulance service paramedic crew were also in attendance.
