At 16.09pm yesterday afternoon (16th) Magpas Doctor Jono Ritson, Paramedic Andy Smith and Doctor Phil Morgan landed in Toddington, Bedfordshire via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a man who had gone into cardiac arrest.

When the Magpas enhanced medical team arrived, an EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic team had successfully resuscitated the patient. The Magpas doctors and paramedic then assessed the man (in his 50’s) and gave him pain relief before airlifting him to Harefield Hospital, London. They provided high levels of monitoring throughout the flight and the patient was in a very serious but stable condition upon arrival.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team and patient were Chief Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crewmember Lee Kennedy.
