Thetford, motorcyclist sustains serious injuries in fall from bike – Magpas Air Ambulance flies to the scene

At 2.14pm on Sunday afternoon (1st), Magpas Doctor Steve Corry-Bass and Paramedic Simon Standen landed in Thetford, via the air ambulance, to treat a motorcyclist who had fallen from her motorbike.

The Magpas team assessed the woman (in her 40s), who had sustained a serious leg and pelvis injury. They gave her advanced pain relief, sedated her (providing advanced A&E level care at the scene) and put measures in place to protect her injuries. The patient was then flown to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge where she was in a serious but stable condition upon arrival.

The Helicopter crew who flew the medical team were Chief Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crewmember Lee Kennedy.

EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew and Norfolk Police were also in attendance.
