Spalding, tractor and car collision – Magpas Air Ambulance flies to scene
At 11.57am this morning (25th) Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Andy Lindsay, Doctor Vijayasankar and Paramedic Dan Cody) arrived in the Spalding area via the Magpas Air Ambulance, following a road traffic collision involving a tractor and a car.
The Helimedix assessed a man (in his 60’s) who had suffered a chest injury. The Magpas team provided the patient with advanced pain relief (providing specialist A&E care at the scene), before accompanying him to Peterborough City Hospital by land ambulance. On arrival at the hospital the patient was in a stable condition.
The Magpas team assessed a second patient, a man (in his 20’s), who had fortunately not suffered any serious injuries. The patient was then allowed to leave the scene of the incident.
The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene was: Chief Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crew Member Steve Hunwicks.
East Midlands Ambulance Service Paramedic Crews, Fire and Rescue Services, and the Police were also present.
