Spalding, 2x car collision – Magpas Helimedix fly to scene

At 3:50pm on the 1st April, Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Tom Odbert and Paramedic Dan Cody) arrived at the A17, in the Holbeach area, via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance – after two cars were involved in a road traffic collision.

An EMAS Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew gave pain relief to a woman (in her 70’s) who suffered back and chest pain and was trapped inside one of the vehicles. The Helimedix then worked alongside the ambulance crew and fire & rescue service crews to remove the patient safely from one of the cars. The woman was then taken to Pilgrim Hospital by land ambulance, where on arrival she was in a stable condition.

The Magpas team also assessed a woman (in her 20’s), who fortunately didn’t suffer any injuries. This patient was given permission to leave the scene of the incident and go home.

The Police were also present. The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene was: Chief Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crew Member Steve Hunwicks.

This is all the information we have.
