Rutland, motorbike incident – Magpas Helimedix fly to scene
At 12:26pm yesterday (12th), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Maria Smith and Paramedic Simon Standen) arrived near Rutland via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance. A man (in his 40’s) was suffering from chest and shoulder injuries after coming off his motorbike.
The Helimedix assessed the patient and provided him with pain relief. They then worked alongside an East Midlands Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew to help safely move the man into an ambulance. The patient was then taken to Kettering Hospital in a stable condition.
The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene was: Chief Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crew Member Steve Hunwicks.
