At 5:47pm yesterday afternoon (19th) Magpas Doctor Mike Carachi and Paramedic Alex Pearce landed in a rural location North of Stewartby via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a man who had been seriously injured in an incident involving industrial machinery.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the patient (in his 40’s) who had sustained a serious leg injury. They gave the man advanced pain relief and sedated him at the scene, providing him with A&E level care, before airlifting him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital. He was in a very serious but stable condition upon arrival.

The Magpas helicopter crew, who flew the patient and medical team, were Pilot Gabriel Barton and Crewmember Steve Hunwicks.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew, Bedfordshire Police and Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.
