Nr Sawtry, man crushed by lorry – Magpas Air Ambulance flies to the scene

At 9.09am on Sunday morning (1st) Magpas Doctor Charlotte Haldane and Paramedic Simon Standen landed in a rural location west of Sawtry via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a man who had been crushed by a lorry.

The Magpas medical team assessed the man (in his 70s) who had sustained pelvic and leg injuries. They administered pain relief before airlifting the patient to Addenbrooke’s Hospital. He was in a serious but stable condition upon arrival at hospital.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team were Pilot Paul Nolan and Crewmember George Phillips.
