At 8:24am this morning (19th) Magpas Doctor Jon Barratt and Paramedic Alex Pearce landed in a rural location north-east of Ravensden via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a man who had been seriously injured in a single-vehicle collision.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the patient (in his 20’s) who had sustained a head injury. They placed the man into a medically induced coma at the scene in order to protect his injuries (providing him with A&E level care) before airlifting him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital. The patient was in a serious but stable condition upon arrival.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team and patient were Pilot Roger Sheridan and Crewmember George Phillips.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew, Bedfordshire Police and Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance.
