Nr Lavenham, woman thrown from horse – Magpas Air Ambulance flies to her

At 12:32pm yesterday afternoon (12th) Magpas Doctor David Leverton and Paramedic Dan Cody landed in a rural location east of Lavenham via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a woman who had been seriously injured after being thrown from a horse.

The enhanced medical team assessed the patient (in her 30’s) who had sustained a serious head injury. They placed the woman into a medically induced coma in order to protect her injuries (providing her with A&E level care at the scene), before accompanying her in a land ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge. Upon arrival, the patient was in a serious but stable condition.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team were Pilot Steve Wood and Crewmember Lee Kennedy.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew and Suffolk Police were also in attendance.

We have no further information.
