At 7:36am this morning (17th) Magpas Doctor Rod Mackenzie and Paramedic Dan Cody landed in a rural location near Hilton via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a man who had been seriously injured in a collision between a car and a bicycle.
The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the patient (in his 50’s) who had sustained multiple serious injuries. They placed the man into a medically induced coma at the scene (providing him with A&E level care) before airlifting him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital. The patient was in a very serious but stable condition upon arrival.
The Magpas helicopter crew, who flew the patient and medical team, were Pilot Chris Sherriff and Crewmember Rob Davies.
An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew and Cambridgeshire Police were also in attendance.
