Nr Hatfield Heath, Essex, 2x vehicle collision – Magpas Air Ambulance flies to the scene

At 5.03pm on Monday evening (20th) Magpas Doctor Steve Corry-Bass and Paramedic Dan Read, landed near Hatfield Heath via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called by the EEAST Ambulance Service to treat a man injured in a collision between two cars.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the man (in his 60s) who had sustained multiple injuries. They provided him with pain relief before airlifting him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital. He was in a stable condition upon arrival at hospital.

Two other patients, a man and a woman, sustained minor injuries and were treated by EEAST Ambulance Service paramedics.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team and patient were Pilot Andy Figg and Crewmember Lee Kennedy.

Essex Fire & Rescue Service and Essex Police were also in attendance.
