Nr Ely, car rolls into ditch – Magpas called to scene

At 3:05am in the early hours of yesterday morning (Sunday 18th), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Sarah McNeilly and Paramedic Ollie Robinson) arrived in the Ely area via the Magpas Rapid Response BMW – following a road traffic incident involving a car which had left the road and ended up in a ditch. A woman (in her 20’s) was trapped inside the vehicle.

The patient was removed safely from the car by a Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service Crew and a HART team. The Magpas Team administered enhanced pain relief for the patient who had suffered head injuries (providing her with A&E level care at the scene).

The Helimedix then accompanied the patient in a land ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, where on arrival she was in a stable condition.

EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crews and the Police were also on the scene.
