At 2:35am this morning (16th), Magpas Doctor Andy Lindsay and Paramedic Oliver Robinson arrived at a rural road north-west of Bury St Edmunds, via the Magpas Air Ambulance rapid response vehicle. They had been called to treat a patient who was trapped – after a car had left the road and collided with a fence, then a tree and a telegraph pole.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed a man (in his 30’s) who had sustained multiple injuries and gave him high level pain relief. The Magpas team then worked alongside a Suffolk Fire & Rescue Service crew, an EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew and Suffolk Police to remove the patient safely from the car he was in. The man was then taken to West Suffolk Hospital by land ambulance for further assessment.
