Nr Ampthill, man injured in motorbike incident – Magpas Air Ambulance flies to scene

At 12:50pm yesterday lunchtime (27th) Magpas Doctor Jon Barratt, Paramedic Ollie Robinson and Doctor Phil Morgan landed in a rural location east of Ampthill via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a man who had been injured in a motorbike collision.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the patient (in his 50’s) who had sustained serious leg and arm injuries before sedating him at the scene (providing him with A&E level care). They then accompanied the man via land ambulance to Bedford Hospital, where upon arrival he was in a very serious but stable condition.

The Magpas helicopter crew who flew the medical team were Chief Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crewmember Steve Hunwicks.
An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew and Bedfordshire Police were also in attendance.

We have no further information at this time.
