Northampton, woman injured in hot air balloon incident – Magpas Air Ambulance flies to the scene

At 8.02am on Sunday morning (22nd), Magpas Doctor Rupert Hurry and Paramedic Alex Pearce landed in Northampton, via the Magpas air ambulance, to treat a woman injured in a hot air balloon incident.

The Magpas medical team assessed the woman (in her 20s), who had sustained serious burns. The patient was given strong pain relief and sedated (providing her with A&E level care at the scene). She was then flown to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team and patient were Pilot Andy Figg and Crewmember Rob Davies.

EMAS Ambulance Service paramedic crews and Northamptonshire Police were also in attendance.
