Northampton, man injured in motorcycle vs car RTC – Magpas Air Ambulance flies to the scene

At 11.45am on Sunday morning (6th), Magpas Doctor Ed Barnard and Paramedic Dan Read landed in Northampton via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a motorcyclist involved in a collision with a car. 

The Magpas medical team assessed a man (in his 50’s) who had sustained leg and head injuries. They provided him with advanced pain relief.

The team then accompanied the patient by land ambulance to Coventry Hospital. He was in a serious but stable condition upon arrival at hospital.

A second patient, the pillion passenger of the motorbike, was anaesthetised at the scene by Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance medical team. We have no further details.

The helicopter crew who flew the Magpas medical team were Pilot Andy Figg and Crewmember George Phillips.

An EMAS Ambulance Service paramedic crew and Northamptonshire Police were also in attendance.
