Mepal, serious lorry & truck collision – Magpas Helimedix fly to scene

At 9:21am Friday morning (7th), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Nick Scott and Paramedic Dan Read) arrived in the Mepal area via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance, after a serious road traffic collision between a truck and a lorry.

The Magpas team assessed three patients; a man in his 40’s, a woman in her 40’s and another woman in her 30’s. Fortunately both female patients were unharmed and were given permission to go home. The male patient suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital by land ambulance in a stable condition.

Sadly, a man was pronounced dead at the scene. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.

The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene was: Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crew Member Andy Craigie.

An EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew, a Rapid Response Paramedic and Manager were also present, alongside a Fire & Rescue Crew and the Police.

Anyone with additional information about this incident, please contact Cambridgeshire Police on 101. Thank you.
