Melbourn, mobility scooter vs van – Magpas Air Ambulance flies to scene

At 3:10pm this afternoon (1st), Magpas Doctor Charlotte Haldane and Paramedic Chris Hawkins arrived in Melbourn via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a patient, following a collision involving a van and a mobility scooter.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed a woman (in her 40s) who had sustained multiple serious injuries. They administered pain relief for the patient before escorting her to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in a land ambulance. Upon arrival at the hospital, the woman was in a very serious but stable condition.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team were Pilot Andy Figg and Crewmember Paul Nolan.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew was also in attendance.
