M11 J7-8 Essex, woman injured in single vehicle collision – Magpas Air Ambulance flies to the scene

At 12.07pm this afternoon (4th) Magpas Doctor Saad Jawaid and Paramedic Ollie Robinson landed on the M11 between Junctions 7 to 8 in Essex via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called by the EEAST Ambulance Service to treat a woman whose car had left the road and collided.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the woman (in her 20s) who had sustained multiple injuries. They provided her with advanced pain relief at the scene (giving her A&E level care). She was then airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge where he was in a serious but stable condition upon arrival.

Essex Police and the Highways Agency shut the motorway in order to allow the air ambulance to land on the carriageway.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team and patient were Pilot Andy Figg and Crewmember George Phillips.

EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crews and Essex Fire & Rescue Service were also in attendance.
