At 2.22am this morning (16th), Magpas Doctor Mark Tehan and Paramedic Dan Read arrived in Luton via the Magpas Air Ambulance rapid response vehicle. They had been called to treat a man seriously injured when the car he was travelling in left the road.

The Magpas medical team assessed the man (in his 20’s), who had sustained multiple injuries. They then anaesthetised him (providing him with A&E level care) before accompanying him by land ambulance to Luton & Dunstable Hospital. He was in a critical but stable condition upon arrival.

The Magpas team then later assisted in transferring the patient by land ambulance to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge for further treatment. He was in a serious condition upon arrival.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew, Bedfordshire Fire & Rescue Service and Bedfordshire Police were also in attendance at the incident.
