Luton, man collapses at home – Magpas flies to him


At 11.43am on Tuesday morning (1st), Magpas Doctor Andy Lindsay and Paramedic Ollie Robinson landed in Luton via the air ambulance to treat a man who had collapsed at home.

The Magpas team assessed the man (in his 40s) who had suffered a head injury. The team then anaesthetised the patient (offering him A&E level specialist care) before flying him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital for further treatment and investigation.

The helicopter team who flew the medics to the scene were: Chief Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crew Member Steve Hunwicks.

EEAST Ambulance Service and Bedfordshire Police were also in attendance.
