Lincoln, man in sporting incident – Magpas Helimedix fly to him

At 2.07pm on Saturday (9th), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Maria Smith and Paramedic Simon Standen) arrived near Lincoln via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance. A man (in his 20’s) was involved in a sporting incident – whilst playing squash – and lost consciousness.

The Helimedix assessed the patient and provided him with enhanced pain relief, whilst working alongside an East Midlands Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew . The Magpas team then flew the man to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham. On arrival at the hospital the patient was in a stable condition.

The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene/ the Helimedix and the patient to hospital was: Pilot Andy Figg and Crew Member Steve Hunwicks.
