Leighton Buzzard motorbike & car collision – Magpas Helimedix fly to the scene
At 11:55am late this morning, Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Nick Foster, Paramedic Mark Glover and Doctor Ali Tompkins) landed just outside Leighton Buzzard, near the A4146, via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance – after a road traffic collision involving a car and a motorbike.
The Magpas team assessed a man (in his 50’s) who suffered a severe lower leg injury. The Helimedix sedated the patient, before putting measures into place to straighten his leg (providing him with enhanced A&E level care). The Helimedix then accompanied the man in a Land Ambulance to Luton & Dunstable Hospital. On arrival at the hospital, the man was in a stable condition.
The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene was: Pilot Steve Wood and Crew Member George Phillips.
An EEAST Ambulance Crew, a Rapid Response Paramedic and the Police were all present.
All the Emergency Services worked extremely well together.
This is all the information we have at present.
