Kempston, woman injured in 2x vehicle collision – Magpas Air Ambulance flies to the scene

At 3.31pm on Sunday afternoon (15th), Magpas Doctor Sophia De Maria and Paramedic Dan Read landed in Kempston, via the Magpas air ambulance, to treat a woman who had been injured in a collision involving two vehicles.

The Magpas medical team assessed the woman (in her 20s), who had sustained a leg injury. The patient was sedated (providing her with A&E level care at the scene) in order to extricate her from the vehicle. She was then flown to Bedford Hospital, where she was in a stable condition upon arrival.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team and patient were Pilot Steve Wood and Crewmember Lee Kennedy.

Bedfordshire Police, Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service and an EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew were also in attendance.
