Huntingdon, lorry overturns – Magpas Helimedix called to scene
At 7.36pm last night (16th) Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Jon Birks, Doctor Sarah Hazleman and Paramedic Dan Read) arrived in Huntingdon via the Magpas Rapid Response BMW, following a road traffic incident involving a lorry which overturned.
The Helimedix worked alongside Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Services to remove a man (in his 30’s) safely from the lorry. The Magpas team assessed the male patient, who had suffered serious arm injuries, and provided him with advanced pain relief (providing specialist A&E care at the scene). The Helimedix team then accompanied the man to Addenbrooke’s Hospital by land ambulance, where on arrival he was in a stable condition.
Another patient, who fortunately did not suffer serious injuries, was assessed at the scene by an EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew and subsequently taken to Hinchingbrooke Hospital for further treatment.
The Police were also present.
