Holbeach, boy injured in stock car racing incident – Magpas Helimedix fly to him
At 5.45pm yesterday (7th) Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Nathan Howes, Doctor Rod Mackenzie and Paramedic Simon Standen) arrived in Holbeach via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance. A stock car collided with other stock cars during a junior race, leaving a young male driver with upper body injuries.
The Helimedix assessed the patient and provided him with enhanced pain relief (providing specialist A&E level care at the scene). The Magpas team then flew the boy to Addenbrooke’s Hospital. On arrival at the hospital the patient was in a serious but stable condition.
The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene/ the patient and Helimedix to hospital was: Pilot Dan Vickers and Crew Member Rob Davies.
St John’s Ambulance and East Midlands Ambulance Service Paramedic Crews were also on the scene.
