Hatfield man goes into cardiac arrest – Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance attends
At 2:52pm Friday afternoon, Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Nathan Howes, Paramedic Mark Glover and Doctor Ann Booth) arrived at a supermarket in Hatfield, via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance – after a man (in his 70’s) went into cardiac arrest.
A member of the supermarket staff performed CPR for the patient, prior to the Emergency Services arriving. The Magpas team then anaesthetised the man (giving him critical A&E level care at the scene). The Helimedix then accompanied the patient to Lister Hospital in the land ambulance (monitoring his condition all the way). On arrival at the hospital, the patient was in a stable condition.
The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene was: Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crew Member Simon Amos.
An EEAST Ambulance Crew, an EEAST Rapid Response Paramedic, an EEAST Ambulance Officer and the Police were also present. All the Emergency Services worked extremely well together.
This is all the information we have at present.
