At 10:09am yesterday morning (28th) Magpas Doctor Phil Morgan and Paramedic Ollie Robinson landed in Hatfield Broad Oak via the Magpas Air Ambulance. They had been called to treat a man who had been seriously injured in a cycling incident.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the patient (in his 60’s) who had sustained serious head injuries and placed him into a medically induced coma at the scene (providing him with A&E level care). The doctor-paramedic team then flew the patient to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, where he was in a critical condition upon arrival.

The Magpas helicopter crew, who flew the patient and medical team, were Chief Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crewmember Steve Hunwicks.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew and Essex Police were also in attendance.
