Flitwick, 2x pedestrians v car – Magpas Air Ambulance flies to the scene

At 2.19pm this afternoon (9th), Magpas Doctor Andy Lindsay and Paramedic Dan Read landed in Flitwick, via the Magpas Air Ambulance, after two pedestrians were injured in a collision with a car.

The Magpas medical team assessed both patients, and treated a woman (in her 40s) who had sustained a head injury. They anaesthetised her at the scene (providing her with care otherwise only available in hospital) to protect her injuries.

She was then taken by land ambulance to Luton & Dunstable University Hospital, where she was in a stable condition upon arrival.

An EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew treated the second pedestrian, a man, who had sustained minor injuries.

The helicopter crew who flew the medical team were Pilot Andy Figg and Crewmember Simon Amos.

Bedfordshire Police were also in attendance.

We have no further information.
