Ely boy in rugby incident – Magpas Helimedix fly to him
Yesterday afternoon (Sunday 9th), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Nick Scott and Paramedic Dan Read) flew to a playing field in Ely via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance, arriving at 12:09pm – after a boy suffered a head injury and lost consciousness, during a rugby match.
The Magpas team assessed the patient, whilst working alongside an EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew at the scene. The boy was then taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital by land ambulance, in a stable condition, for observation.
The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix team to the scene was: Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crew Member George Phillips.
All the Emergency Services worked extremely well together.
