Crowland, serious 3x car collision – Magpas Helimedix fly to scene

At approximately 4pm this evening (20th), Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Nick Scott, Paramedic Chris Hawkins and Doctor Simon Lewis) arrived in Crowland via the Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance – after a serious road traffic incident involving three cars.

The Magpas team assessed a man (in his 80’s) who suffered chest injuries. The Helimedix administered pain relief before flying the patient to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, where on arrival the man was in a stable condition. Another man and a woman were also treated at the scene by an EEAST Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew and an EMAS Ambulance Service Paramedic Crew; both patients were subsequently taken to Peterborough City Hospital by land ambulance. Sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, a fourth person was pronounced dead at the scene. Our thoughts are with their family and friends at this time.

The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene and the patient and Helimedix to hospital was: Chief Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crew Member Steve Hunwicks.

Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance, Peterborough Fire & Rescue Service Crews, Lincolnshire Fire & Rescue Service Crews and the Police were also present.

This is all the information we have.
