Crowland, bin lorry collision – Magpas Air Ambulance flies to scene
At 10.40am this morning (23rd) Magpas Helimedix (Doctor Sarah McNeilly and Paramedic Dan Read) arrived in Crowland via the Magpas Air Ambulance, following an incident involving a bin lorry which left the road and ended up in a ditch.
The Helimedix assessed a man (in his 40’s) who had suffered serious arm injuries. The Magpas team sedated the patient (providing specialist A&E care at the scene), before working alongside Fire and Rescue Services to help safely remove the man from the vehicle. The Helimedix then flew the patient to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, where on arrival he was in a stable condition.
The Helicopter team who flew the Helimedix to the scene/the patient and Helimedix to hospital was: Chief Pilot Richard Eastwood and Crew Member Steven Crawford.
East Midlands Ambulance Service Paramedic Crews were also on the scene.
