At 1:15am this morning (12th) Magpas Doctor Mike Carachi and Paramedic Steve Chambers arrived in Chesterton via a Magpas Air Ambulance rapid response vehicle. They had been called to treat a woman who had been seriously injured in a single vehicle collision.

The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the patient (in her 50’s) who had sustained multiple injuries. They worked alongside the Cambridge Fire and Rescue Service and an EEAST Ambulance Service paramedic crew to safely extricate the woman from the vehicle and placed her into a medically induced coma at the scene (providing her with A&E level care). The Magpas doctor and paramedic team then accompanied the patient to Peterborough City Hospital via land ambulance, she was in a critical condition upon arrival.

Cambridgeshire Police and a Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) were also in attendance.
